In Huadu Airport Economic Zone, the annual average temperature, average annual rainfall, and average relative humidity are 21.8 ¡æ, 1753.9 mm and 76% respectively. The predominant wind direction of the whole year is from southeast, the frost-free period is 365 days, and the underground water table is about 1.2-3.5 meters.

Conghua lies to the east of Huadu District, Sanshui and Nanhai in the west, Guangzhou downtown in the south, and Qingyuan in the north. Moreover, it takes less than 30-minute drive from Xinhua Street (the urban area of the district) to the other towns.


Land Way Transportation:

There are 5 expressways through Huadu, namely, Guang-Qing Expressway, Jing-Zhu Expressway, the New Airport Expressway, the North 2nd Ring Expressway, Circle Expressway of the Pearl River Delta. In detail, it takes 20-25 minutes to drive to the center of Guangzhou via Guang-Qing Expressway or the New Airport Expressway; it takes 50 minutes to drive south to Foshan via Guang-Qing Expressway, and 30 minutes north to Qingyuan; it takes 90 minutes to drive south to Zhuhai via Jing-Zhu Expressway, and 60 minutes north to Shaoguan; through North Second Ring Expressway with a transfer to Guang-Shen Expressway, it takes 40 minutes to drive to Dongguan and 60 minutes to Shenzhen. There are three national highways (highway 105, 106, and 107) running through Huadu in north-south direction, plus other two six-lane roads connecting all the towns in the district. All these roads and highways form a very convenient traffic network.

Railway Transportation:

Guangzhou North Railway Station is located in Xinhua Town, Huadu District, Guangzhou, through which every railway station of the whole country can be reached. Besides, Guangzhou Railway Container Node Station is planned to be constructed in Shiling Town of Huadu District with an annual cargo transport capacity of 17 million tons, which makes it the largest logistics center project planned in South China Region.

Air Traffic:

Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, located at the border between Baiyun District and Huadu District of Guangzhou City, is only 6 km away (10 minutes' drive) from the center of Huadu District.

Sea Transportation:

Huadu Port is a category-2 port with an annual throughput capacity of 100,000 TEUs and 850,000-ton bulk cargo. Government organs like Customs, Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine have offices here. At present, the port is undergoing an expansion in river courses and wharf, after which, the throughput capacity is expected to reach 300,000 TEUs by 2007.
